Since the last rant didn't help anyone understand the consequences of their actions...
I was very serious when I said I would not play games anymore. Again, in just the last few days, we have had an absurd amount of current members as well as potential members harass not just our admin team but random members of this group because they are mad about our rules, deviantART rules, US law, or something even more stupid.
I hate writing these blogs because this is supposed to be a positive group intended to help people. However, it is very difficult for me and the entire admin team (and now unfortunately a group of random members) to be positive or to simply operate and help people when we are being so blatantly attacked and harassed.
So, the bottom line is this:
If I or the Review Team tells you to do something, do it or stop complaining. If I or the Review Team point out and explain to you that your actions are rude and then tell you why they are rude, don't throw a massive tantrum about how elitist and terrible we are. If you do, we will block you, remove your wish, and if necessary, report you to deviantART.
Features are done to benefit those members being featured. Those admins who feature deviants spend upwards of 25 to 30 minutes per gallery looking at all the available art and choosing what they feel is the best quality art each person has to represent them in the feature. So features containing several deviants and their works take an hour or more to put together, and that does not count the editing of the code, having the admin team help review for spelling and grammar, etc.
Stalking, harassing, flaming, etc the admin who posts the feature because you feel they are choosing the mediocre or worst works is not acceptable. When that admin chooses to not start a war and instead requests the help of the Review Team who comes in and tells you that you have been rude and that you need to send the group a note with your complaint instead of making a public spectacle of a blog that is not only featuring YOU and intended to help YOU and others, it is NOT OKAY to start a personal war with nearly every admin, make baseless accusations, and then start flaming members and telling them how terrible we are.
That is exactly how someone will get instantly blocked from this group and reported to deviantART.
I and the whole artistic world understands that stock can be expensive and that you can't always find what you need for free. We all also understand that sometimes you forget to credit your sources. However, we are a community group. Therefore, we must make sure that we do not break or otherwise bend the rules of the community in which we serve. If you intend to break deviantART rules, and by proxy US copyright laws, then don't try to join our group if you have no intention of stopping or fixing the issues in your gallery.
Theft is never okay: be it of intellectual property like art or physical property like a car. I would not be okay if someone used any of my photography in their works without my permission, even if they weren't getting paid for it - they still stole them. They are my property and I did the work. In the same way, it wouldn't be okay for me to steal a car and gasoline because I wasn't making a profit and just didn't have the money to buy the car or the gas.
The law is the law. Follow it or be punished by it. deviantART is in the USA. Therefore, deviantART is required to abide by all US laws, to include those on copyright. By using deviantART, you have agreed to follow those laws. Most artists (as is my experience), will allow use of some of their art if you simply do them the favor of asking. It all boils down to respect. Respect of the artists. Respect of this websites policies. Respect of the law. And respect of the art industry.
With that said, do not disrespect me, my team, this group or this group's members for choosing to follow this websites policies and the law. That is a recipe for instant banning and we will report your whole gallery to deviantART. And you as well if you decide to start harassing us for following the law and deviantART policy.
The Review Team
The Review Team now has their own account so they can remain anonymous due to the threats, harassment, spamming, flaming, cursing, name-calling, callouts, etc that have happened over the last month towards admins who are trying to help people and follow the law and deviantART policy. Do not assume you know who is on the Review Team. You don't. Harassing anyone and everyone possible just to try and get the last word in with someone on the Review Team is pointless and idiotic. No one appreciates that type of behavior. And it is that type of behavior that has made a special account to protect the identities of all the Reviewers necessary. Mess with the Review Team, and you will be blocked immediately - not just from that account but also from this group. Start harassing random people to try and find out who is part of the Review Team, and you will be reported to deviantART.
