Welcome to the Wishing Well on deviantART
So you want to join our group? Well okay then! But before you start out on this epic journey where our crack-team of admins presses that magical YES button, you need to know a few things. If you have already joined and are wanting to make a wish, please read this blog.
Mission Statement
dAWW is a community-based group on deviantART and only operates on deviantART. Our primary goal is to give a venue where community-oriented and other policy-abiding community members can not only make a wish but have their deviantART-related wishes granted, be featured and recognized for their talents and participation, and for these deviants to have a safe atmosphere to gather and share artistic and charitable interests. At the Well, we have members who make wishes, members who grant wishes, members who get featured, members who help feature, and more! Joining the Well does not mean you automatically get something for free or are entitled to free things. It doesn't mean that you will be featured, that you will become popular, or that you get anything other than a fancy icon in your groups widget on your profile or awesomesauce blogs and art in your Message Center.
We draw wishes and features at random. RANDOM. We are community-oriented, so we have a review process in place to make sure that those deviants who benefit the most from this group are those who CHOOSE to follow the policies of deviantART. We also have several rules at the Well with very clear consequences (see the FAQ for more information on Abuses of the Well)...
Immediate Removal from the Well
Wishing on multiple accounts
Arguing with admins
Harassing members
Removal from the Well at the 2nd Offense
Complaining about being featured
Complaining/spamming about not being featured
Repeated attempts at account/wish changes
Spamming the group with any request/.question
Repeatedly asking us to grant your wish
Repeatedly asking why the group hasn't granted your wish
dAWW is not able to grant time-sensitive wishes nor is here to allow deviants to hold giveaways and contests of their own by granting their wishes for points in a set amount of time. It is unlikely that your wish will be granted the same day, week or month that you make your wish as wishes are granted through random drawings held each month. If you are relying on your wish to be granted in order to be able to hold a contest, do a giveaway, give a birthday present, etc, you will most likely be disappointed.
dAWW is not rich nor a source for deviants to come to receive handouts. dAWW is also not run by rich people, does not beg for handouts or donations, does not spend points on itself and is not a magical place where free stuff just falls from the interwebs. PEOPLE do all the great magical things by granting wishes. Those people are all of YOU. Without donations from great community members, we would not be alive at all (donations of points, features, arts, etc).
The Well is a GIFT. This group was made to try and help people. It is not an official group, no one is paid to be here and run the group and it certainly wasn't mandated by deviantART to be created and do what it does. As such, we work as fast as we can to get wishes updated and granted. We work very hard to try and make sure every deviant who wants to join is allowed to join without compromising our Mission Statement and rules. The admins and members who help grant wishes are giving a huge gift of their TIME: time that they could be using in other groups, with their families, on art, etc.
The Well is a SAFE PLACE. As such, users who have a history of or appear to currently be participating in clearly anti-community behavior such as trolling, harassment, spamming, begging for points, writing callout journals, etc are not allowed to join or make a wish until their behavior changes. This also means that users who are in clear violation of deviantART policy are not allowed to join.
There are a few ways a member can be magically removed from the Well (or blocked). We don't like to remove or block deviants, but it happens...
Members are removed when...
They harass or bully admins.
They harass or bully other members.
They continue to spam or argue with the group after one warning.
They are found to be participating in one of the zero-tolerance activities (bullying, trolling, callouts and hate art).
To join this group, you must request a review. By default, you will be given a limited review only AFTER you have stated it is okay to review your account. To learn more about reviews, please click here.

What we look for...
Inactivity or moved/hiatus accounts
Callouts, trolling/bullying, hate art, excessive begging
Excessive Copyright Infringement (submissions against dA policy)
Resulting actions...
If we find that you are basically active, are not participating in any of our zero-tolerance activities, and you are fairly vigilant about following copyright policy, you will be allowed to join the group. If we find otherwise, you will be declined and given a message as to what we found and how to fix it (note that it is YOUR decision whether or not you choose to follow our recommendations at the end of a review).
How to Join the Well
You do not have to include a wish when you join. You do not have to give us a reason, kiss our toes, or do anything special. All the magic will happen once we get the request in our message center. The process for joining the Well is incredibly simple...
1. Go to our main page.
2. Click the button that says "Join this Group"
3. Submit your request.
Once you complete steps 1 through 3, you just need to wait (and be patient - we will decline you if you spam us with requests to join!). After you join, you will be asked if it is okay for your account to be reviewed. If you say yes, we will do a limited review of your account. If you say no, we will decline your request to join the group. If you take longer than a week to reply to any communication with us, we will assume you are no longer interested in joining and decline your request.
- I don't mind if anybody uses this for the GB!P.
