What is a Co-founder and a Contributor?

As a Supergroup, Co-Founders are Supervisors and Contributors are VIPs. As a Supergroup, we also have a special rank called Special Teams for our group accounts.

By default, all new admins are given co-founder status. The way groups and admin privileges are set up, co-founder status is needed for you to perform your many admin duties. Contributors are the VIPs of the Well admins. Basically, contributors did their job as co-founder extremely awesomely and so get a reserved slot and an extra wish on the list. Contributors are also required to do NOTHING while co-founders are required to be active in the group for certain events, during certain times and to complete specific duties.

Most Current Requirements: 4/9/2013

To qualify to be CONSIDERED for an admin position at dAWishingWell, you must grant 1 non-purchasable wish (or pending wish if no non-purch wishes exist), grant at least 800 points in purchasable wishes, and made two attempts to clear wishes off of the pending wishlist (this can be trying to grant two different wishes or trying to grant one difficult wish two different times).

Co-founder Duties (Supervisors)

Make no mistake that this is an abbreviated list... In the admin-only area of the group, we have MANY MANY MANY forums and lists with LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of information. Only ONE of these is for active co-founders to CHOOSE their regular duties. Co-founders are required to do at least 2 to 3 jobs in the Well on a regular basis (some exceptions apply). For the most part, co-founders are required to be online at least 4 days a week for more than an hour at a time or every day for about 30 minutes or more at a time. (that is how busy we are!!!)

Some jobs that admins can sign up for are replies to notes and comments, join requests (two types), list updates (five types), activities and journals, vote on submissions, etc. That doesn't seem like a lot, but rest assured, with the number of requests we get in a day, it can become pretty overwhelming.

Some teams open up periodically such as the Review Team, the Widget Team and the Profile Team. The members who are chosen for these teams are HAND PICKED. You cannot simply join these teams because you WANT to.

Necessary Knowledge for Co-Founders

Some things are just important for admins at the Well. Aside from being polite and patient, all admins must...

:bulletblue: KNOW CSS
Yes, you have to KNOW CSS. We don't expect you to be an expert, be able to code your own layouts or sites or expect you to be able to randomly generate code on a whim, but you MUST be able to READ CODE so you don't screw up the code we already have in place. On top of that, you have to be able to use journal skins without an issue and understand the most basic visual aspects of code such as BOLD, ITALIC, UNDERLINE, DIVs and ALIGNMENT, dA EMOTES and PLZs, showing USERNAMES and ICONS, THUMBS and BIGTHUMBS, BLOCKQUOTES, HEADERS (H3 and H1) and of course, the most-loved by MamaLantiis, the HR tag.

:bulletblue: Submitting Journals
You can't be an admin here if you can't write and submit basically coherent journals in English. Yes, spelling mistakes, punctuation mistakes and grammar mistakes happen, but the blog shouldn't be an eyesore to read. If this means submitting from your Sta.sh or submitting directly from the group, that is fine (so long as you use OUR skins).

:bulletblue: RULES RULES RULES
You WILL BE reviewed prior to taking an admin spot. If you don't pass, you won't be an admin. You also risk losing your wish as a member until the issue(s) found are fixed. If you pass the review (something we would expect from anyone wanting to be an admin), you are expected to know, like you wrote them yourself, all the daily blogs linked on the profile as well as the Review blog and this blog. You will also be expected to be fairly fluent in deviantART policy (for the most part - this is most important for those selected to be on the Review Team).

Do you want to be an admin of the Well?

If, after reading ALL of that, you still think you want to try and be an admin of dAWishingWell to get an extra wish on the lists and be part of something much much greater than yourself, please send the group a NOTE requesting to be reviewed for an admin position. If you have some examples of you using CSS in journals or writing journals (or even hosting or helping with activities, link it in your note). You may also want to include any group admin experience you have. While having little experience won't hurt your chances, the more experience you have, the more comfortable we feel letting you loose on our back room lol.

Note that you WILL BE GIVEN A FULL REVIEW as laid out in the Make A Wish blog.

I'm already good at the basics of CSS, journal submissions and the knowledge of the different blogs-
But then I haven't donated more than/at least 800 points and I haven't exactly attempted to clear the pending list. . . .
Well, I guess I'll have to work harder! :wormnomnom:
I guess the reason I don't grant point wishes is because I feel bad for collecting points from others to use them to grant wishes under my name. . . . ;v;
