It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Sunday Well Wishes

This group is all about giving, and we understand that in a group this big it can be easy to get lost. We want to encourage our members to continue the giving spirit weekly, while getting to know their neighbors. To accomplish this, we bring you Sunday Well Wishes. This is a weekly activity that is completely optional but we hope you choose to participate.

Every Sunday a new list of names will be paired up, and the goal for the following week is to get to know your partner. We will provide questions and task to help you along, and ask that you post your responses in the comments as well so we can see your progress!

FAQ
1. What if I don't want to participate?
If you choose to opt out that is completely up to you! Just send a note to the group and let us know we should remove your name from future pairings. Keep in mind if you choose to opt-out, you will have to notify us to opt back in.

2. My name wasn't on the list!
=Xehara is in charge of the lists and promises you that the omission was unintentional. Just note the group to inform them that you would like to be added to the list for the following week. If you joined on the same day as the update, or after midnight the night before, it is likely you wont be in the list.

3. My partner is inactive/a widget account/deactivated, what do I do?
They may be on vacation, just complete the activity to the best of your ability in their absence. If they are a donation widget or deactivated, note the group with this information so we can adjust for future lists.
